If you're not used to doing threaded black steel piping, here's aneat trick that'll save you time and money when working with 3/4" inch and1" diameter piping. When taking your measurement place your tape measure on the face of your fitting to the center of where your pipe needs to go andthat's your final measurement. If you don't have the right size pipe clamphere's an old-school trick that will secure your pipe temporarily till youget the right clamp. Grab your adjustable wrench and bend the tail end of the clip,this will make it fit a smaller pipe and will get you out of trouble at no extracost if you're stuck. Whenever cutting any type of pipe, they need to be cutstraight. If you don't have your wrap around here's a good alternative that'llgive you very similar results. Get yourself a hose clamp that fits pipesize and scribe your line to be cut, a straight line guaranteed every time. There are many ways to salvage a used PVC fitting that's already been gluedas seen in my previous videos. But here's another cool way to get it done. Get yourself a heat gun and heat the assembly thoroughly till it's softenough to insert some needle nose pliers between the fitting and the pipe. Then,grasp the pipe really good and twist it until it comes right out,use this method in a well-ventilated area. And as a last trick, getting to thebottom of your dope cans isn't always easy. You could cut them in half, orsimply pound the can till you reach the bottom, saving you money in the long run.
